ID put over 4 years of work on this title, putting in 12-20 hours a day, for 4 fucking years, to say it's not worth 55.00 is completely fallacious, get a fucking job.

By not supporting good titles like Doom 3, you're only hurting the further development of future releases. On top of that, by downloading the game and NOT BUYING It, the software companies are FORCED to raise prices to make up for jack asses that don't actualy buy the game, you can compare this with shoplifting, who pays for shoplifting? The consumers by having to pay more for retail items, see the concept here? So, by saying it's too expensive and you refuse to pay 10.00 more than the most expensive game available today, then you're saying you'd rather pay even higher prices in the future, backwards thinking.

I never said it wasn't worth $55, I said "IMO that is a bit much for a game." What something is worth and its actual price are two completely different things. You can't let other people have their own opinions can you ? If you read the next post you will find out I do have a job and I have plenty of money to afford the game, I choose not to waste $55 on the game though. As I said, I won't be downloading Doom 3, but I can see why other people would download it rather than pay for it.

I'm not doing any of that. I won't download it and I'll eventually crack down and buy it. I'm not refusing to pay $55 for it, I just feel as though it is priced to high. Torak I am guessing you have paid for something in life you thought was a bit to much. That is all I am doing. While I don't condone illegally downloading the game, I can understand why someone would download it.

but, you are to young to understand, really. dont take that as a personal slam, as i mean it literally. you probably dont remember when Doom was originally released. same with the original quake and quake 2. in a few years, when all the new games come out, maybe you'll realize how big of a release doom 3 is. thus making you see that it is in fact worth $55. <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

thats true...I remember playing one of the titles vaguely as a small child. Maybe my opinion will change after I play it. We'll see.

lol. i make more than enough money to buy a comp game. and I care less if some ID nerd programmer worked a 90 hour week for this game, that isn't going to make feel guilty if I choose not to buy it, only download it.
