My rl friend of 6+ years David Williams won second place this weekend in the WSP. Winning 3.5 million dollars in the largest WSP in history.
ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
This guy is obviously a good poker player, but he was a proffessional Magic the Gathering player for years. This was his first WSP. ABSOLUTELY INCREDABLE.
Im just blown away.

lol.
You dont have to be "good" at poker to win the WSOP. You just have to be lucky and catch the good hands and not catch bad beats.
Most of the good pros were eliminated the second day: Lederer, Chan, Helmuth, Ivey, etc.
I heard a bunch of Poker Star newbs were at the last table.

yea 10 grand buy in fee for who ever asked... Thats insane he won.. And oh yea you dont have to be good to win it.. Well not that good. You need luck. Not just some but a lot. Just like how Robert Varhokdi or something (2002 winner). Then Moneymaker eliminating Humberto Brenes when MM goes all in with Pocket 8's on flop and He calls with Pocket Rockets and the fucker wins it by hitting an 8 on the turn. Thats luck. If he wuold of lost that he woulda cashed even. The guy was lucky the whole tourny... Againest Phil Ivey, out drawing Farha on the final table.. I dont know how it played this year but i watched Poker
but gj to him. i play on pokerstars and have won maybe a little over a grand all together from them and i consider myself very lucky to get how far i do in there online tournys. <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

If you think its possible to catch lucky cards for 5 days straight, and beat out over 2800 competitors with luck. Then you are a moron. Well that's something we already knew anyway.
You can easily tell who was lucky. It's the first and second day chip leaders. Yet none of them made it in the money.

My friend got in through pokerstars, yet he is a professional gambler. Does that make him a newb? He makes about 40k a year playing poker as a side job.
He scored around 250ish
