If you are going to try being funny with an analogy, make sure it fits and is not so easily shot down. Don't blame me for your own weak argument.
Our soldiers on D-Day were fighting the same fight our soldiers are fighting today. It's Democracy vs Totalitarianism. It's the same fight we've been in for the last 100 years.
Whether that fight is against Hitler or Saddam doesn't matter. They both needed to go.
But you won't get any historical perspective from the liberal media. All you'll get is the sensationalism of a car bomb. They'll report every major, minor, and imagined setback while nearly never reporting on the successes.
