Pulling out is clearly an option and desireable. In a speech last week Colin Powell proposed that we would pull out immediately if the Iraqi's asked us to leave. We are obviously looking for a way out. Why else would we insist on handing over power to a provisonal authority at the end of next month.
The administration didn't know what they were getting into. Bremmer (Rumsfeld's second in command) admitted yesterday that we underestimated the resistance in Iraq.
We need to get out soon, and in a graceful manner, both for our troops sake and for the Iraqi peoples sake.
