In vermont or mass whichever it was they were going to allow civil unions however, it was their supreme court that shot that down. I am guessing that most gays would not mind having a civil union.

What some of these flying flamers want is the symbolic meaning of it, and/or the "I want what they have" bullshit. That is just the psychological aspect of it. They also want the legal benefits that come with marriage such as, the small tax break, insurance and benefits from work to family, crap like that.....

Due to Oregon's grandfathered law of "in family marriages" sisters are still allowed to marry their brothers, with that statement being read Benton County residents let out a sigh of relief.
Go Oregon.

They get the legal part of it already. In California at least. They just want the name now, they want to be "married" in name and not just form

Well........... When the people I run into in Portland , Oregon make up the mistake of bringing up the subject of the gay marriage (whether they are gay/married or whatever) I ask them a question. Why in the hell get married in the first place? Marriage IS a religous ceremony. Don't believe me? Listen close at the next wedding you go to. On those grounds, hell, why not challenge that marriage isn't a seperation of church and state? Most people don't even know WHY their getting married these days anyway. Besides being a "big meanie" in video games. I'm also a christian IRL. Still though, regardless of my personal views....all I can honestly derive from this ridiculous stuff in the media/government. Is the fact that people want the fiscal benefits? I don't know, I get tired of hearing it every damn day on the news here in Oregon. I also like the fact that Multnomah county disregarded the state law and issued the licenses before getting the legalities taken care of. (It's currently illegal according to state law , since marriage is defined as being between man and woman still)
I shake my head at our legal system sometimes, then I log onto the gamz0r and kill some folks. Makes things better:)
Maybe I should go into law school..........no no no, I'd become one of them~! noooooooooooooooooooo.
