That is a massive pit bull. If he got ahold of your arm he would probably take it away from you.

Guy looks like an even more douchey version of Colin Kaepernick.

I feel comfortable saying that on the internet.

Would not feel comfortable if 175 lb. Pitbull was present.

haha Blazzen.

I'm not sure how I feel about this tbh. I mean there's no logical reason why a pitbull shouldn't be as good a breed for a guard dog as any other breed. But I definitely feel this kinda shit just adds to the bad stigma the breed already has. At least the vid shows that the dogs are good with kids.

We've got a number of cases in our office where owners are prosecuted because their dogs killed someone. Always a pitbull.

I was raised around them since I was a child and have had 5 of my own and never once have mine shown even the slightest aggression towards people.

In these cases, who identifies the breed of the dog? Is it the victim?

Also, just for the record, pit bull isn't an actual breed. You probably already knew that though.

Everything I've read on them indicates they are considered their own breed. But, I've got no idea one way or the other. I've just read some articles out of curiosity when these cases pop up. I've seen articles referencing that even PETA supports breed-specific sterilization for pitbulls. The ASPCA also seems to take the stance that it is its own breed. But don't matter one way or the other to me.

It's a term that generally refers to a couple of different breeds. The American Pit Bull Terrier and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier are the two breeds that are generally referred to as a pitbull. The American Bulldog and the Bull Terrier are frequently lumped in there too.

The problem with pitbull attacks (from what I have read) is that it's usually the victim that ID's the breed type. Most people have no idea what breeds are actually lumped into the pitbull category and also have no idea what a "pitbull" actually looks like. For example:
