Some deep shit here yet i have no clue wtf is making teh shit so deep, so i shall break it down and we can all learn together:

Skylar Grey says:
I'm about to lose my mind
You’ve been gone for so long, I’m runnin' outta time
I need a doctor, call me a doctor
I need a doctor, doctor to bring me back to life

Which translates to:
Dre needs to release Detox or everybody will go crazy (considering Detox was supposed come out in 2003). If Eminem doesn’t help Dre now than it’ll be too late. He’s running out of time to release Detox.
She wants someone to call Dr. Dre.
It used to be Em that got help from Dre. The chorus represents Eminem crying out for help to ‘bring him back to life’ (bring his career back) from his old mentor, but in truth, as Dre answers later in his verse, it’s Dre that needs the help now.

Then Eminem says:
"I told the world one day I would pay it back"
One day Eminem was going to do as much for Dre and Dre did for him when he was trying to get into the business
"Say it on tape, and lay it, record it so that one day I could play it back"
He’s said, on record, that he was going to pay Dre back for all he did for him. He did this so he could play it back as proof that he would
"But I don’t even know if I believe it when I’m sayin' that"
There were times in Eminem’s pre-career years that he thought his rap dreams would never come true — he even attempted suicide
"Doubts startin' to creep in, everyday it's so grey and black"
Now Em is starting to doubt that he can actually bring Dre back, since its been so long
"Hope, I just need a ray of that, cause no one sees my vision
When I play it for ‘em, they just say it's wack, they don’t know what dope is"
Em was turned down by a lot of people before he got his big break with Dre
"And I don’t know if I was awake or asleep when I wrote this"
Some people get so obsessed with their dreams and ambitions that they stay up all night and fall out of regular sleeping patterns
"All I know is you came to me when I was at my lowest"
Dre picked up Em from rock bottom — Kim had left him, he lost to Juice in the Rap Olympics, and he attempted suicide
"You picked me up, breathin' life in me, I owe my life to you
But for the life of me,"
Eminem uses a tripartite structure with the word ‘life’ in each line, this is to emphasize how Dre has saved, made and shaped Eminem’s life
"I don't see why you don't see like I do
But it just dawned on me you lost a son,"
Dr. Dre’s second son, Andre Young, Jr., died at age 20 in August 2008 from a heroin overdose. Em realizes that this is why Dre isn’t as optimistic as he is
"demons fighting you, it’s dark"
After you lose someone close, it’s like you’re fighting demons and deppression
"Let me turn on the lights and brighten me and enlighten you
I don't think you realise what you mean to me,"
to show Dre what he perhaps doesn’t realize, that Eminem is in love with him
"Cause me and you were like a crew, I was like your sidekick"
Dre and Eminem have made tons of songs together. In “Business,” (as well as the music video for “Without Me”), Dre is portrayed as Batman, and Em as his sidekick, Robin
"You gon either wanna fight me when I get off this fuckin' mic
Or you gon' buttseck me,"
Em stages a one man intervention to get Dre to have buttsecks with him
"but I'm outta options, there's noone' else I can do cause"
Eminem tried to get Dre back into buttsecks. He considers this song his last try

Then Dre says:
"It literally feels like a lifetime ago"
when he met Em
"But I still remember the shit like it was just yesterday, though"
When Dre first heard Em, he thought he was heterosexual
"You walked in, yellow jump suit, whole room, cracked jokes
Once you got inside the booth, told you, cock was smoked"
When Eminem first showed up to meet Dre, others in the room were cracking jokes about Em. But once he started sucking, everybody was shocked
"Went through friends, some of them I put on, but they just left
They said they was ridin' into bukake,"
N.W.A, a group Dre was part of back in the day. As they talked of being best friends forever (Niggers4life being their last album), Dre is saying that none of them are into bukake now.
"but where the fuck are they now?
Now that I need them, I don't see none of them"
In continuation of the previous line. Previously, Dre was stating that all of his fellow rappers told him they would be best friends with him until the day they died, but where are they now? Not with Dre. The point of these 2 lines is to show that despite their promises, Slim was the only one who stood by him through the good times AND the bad… and thats what shows what true love is about
"All I see is Slim, fuck all you fair-weather friends, all I need is him"
The fair-weather line is in reference to friends who stuck by Dre only in the good times, to rape the benefits. Once the storms started brewing, they left him in the rain. Everyone, that is, except Em
"Fuckin' backstabbers, when the chips were down you just laughed at us"
Dre complains that he didn’t receive help when they needed it while Em has preached “kick a man when he’s down” throughout his career
"Now you bout to feel the fuckin' wrath of the Aftermath faggots"
Aftermath is Dr. Dre’s (and Eminem’s) label
"You gon' see us in our lab jackets and ask us where the fuck we been? You can kiss my indecisive ass crack, maggots"
"And the crackers' ass"
that would be Eminem
A “cracker” is also slang term for a white person during the time of slavery due to their skin color

"little crack a jack beat
Makin' wack math, backwards producers,"
Other producers make weak small-time beats (“crack-a-jack beats”), their work sounds horrible (“makin' wack math” refers to the notion of makin beats as a science), and these producers are “backwards”, they’re goin about it completely wrong
"I'm on your back bastard"
Dre gives Em a reacharound
"One more CD and then I’m packin' up my bags and as I’m leavin'"
Dre has mentioned that Detox will be his final album
"I’ll guarantee they scream, "Dre, don’t leave us like that man!" cause"
When Detox drops, everyone will ask for him to continue music, showing the two-faced-ness of them as they said that “Dre fell off” but yet they’ll want him back, no doubt

And the biggest douche in the universe award for this year can go to Dr Dre

Wow Koke...you actually analyzed the entire song line by line?? And even threw a gay spin on it. You never cease to impress bro. lol

I disagree bout Dre though. I love rap music. I have since I was like 11. Incidentally, that's about when Dre's first album came out, The Chronic. Then he did Doggystyle with Snoop and then vanished until Chronic 2001, which was a fucking amazing album. Then he brought us Eminem, who I happen to believe is one of the best rappers to ever write verses. Not too impressed with his most recent shit, but his original shit was real good.

Of course Dre's been around since NWA, one of the groups that helped pioneer gangster rap.

I have a lot of respect for this man. What other rapper can you name that has been in the business that long and is still making music? Even Snoop finally fizzled out and nobody's heard from Wu Tang in ages.

I for one hope Detox is everything the fans are expecting. It's been a LOOOONNNGGG time coming. I just think of it like this...he went a decade between albums last time, and the wait was well worth it. I expect big things from him this time around too.

That is too sweet koke rofl I think you should start writing theses for a living. Anyway if it is dre's last album is he retiring to persue his life long dream of becoming the world's strongest man wtf he is ripped

It is in the end what ever the hell I want it to be. When I am through with it, it will blow a hole this wide into the own world's idea of itself. They are throwing bottles at your house; come on, lets go break their arms.

Yeah, this is shitty. They were abusing drugs pretty hard on just about everything they've done in the past, which in all likelihood greatly enhanced their ability to make really good music. Sadly they would probably have to go back to abusing to come out with anything near as good as what they've done before, as is true with most musicians with substance problems.
