If any of you guys check out the new movie The Town, it was filmed right at the Coast Guard base where i work in the North End of Boston. We had the joy of getting a few days off from work for this damn movie because they closed all the streets. Anyway i was told its a great movie im going to go check it out tonight.

Coast Guard is for fags

Let me tell you a little story.

I grew up on an Island in the bering sea St. Paul Island to be exact. My father and grandfather before him were all Alaskan commercial fisherman. When I was 11 years old my fathers crab boat started taking on water (i was on the boat). It took about 30-35 minutes before the boat was completely submerged in water in roughly 40-50ft seas. About 30 minutes after the boat was gone and we were in our life suits in the water a Coast Guard C-130 Spotted us and deployed a inflatable raft. 20 minutes or so after that a HH-60 Jayhawk was there and pulled us out of the water and medivac'd us to a near by Loran station and we were treated with severe hypothermia. One of the crew members who was like an ucle to me growing up did not make it.
This is the reason i joined the Coast Guard and I am forever in the debt of the great lifesavers that I now call shipmates. The Coast Guard is a great service and one of the oldest services of the U.S.
