Anyone watching that series on History Channel??

I've been TIVO'ing & watching it. Pretty graphic images, but serves as an awesome reminder and history lesson. People didn't fuck around back then. Leaders of today no longer give speeches of the caliber delivered by Roosevelt, Churchill and Eisnehower. War meant a completely different thing back then... I'll just end at that to avoid it turning into a political post just to have some dippity douche-bag run it into the ground, but if you get a chance to watch the series, do so. Its pretty moving.

i dont understand how they can show ww2 in HD when they used those grainy cameras back in the 40s... hell , we need a camera that can take stuff in HD to show HD today... how in the world are they doing this? is this one of those upconverting tricks and calling it HD?

This is a GREAT show!!! It should be required viewing in high school. I believe a large majority of Americans have no idea what these brave (kids at the time) did for every one of us living today.

@Tenshi -- It's taking old footage and scaling it to HD like resolutions, the actual footage itself isn't HD (obviously). I've watched some of it, but it's super graphic, and war movies and war documentaries are extremely interesting, but also extremely sad.

Not to get off topic or even change subjects, but also on History Channel is a series I watch every week called "The Universe", fucking AMAZING show if you dig stuff on the cosmos. Each week they do a different subject, whether it be Supernovas, Gamma Ray bursts, Worm Holes, Fabric of Space and Time, Star Creation, Comets, Galaxies, Space Travel, the Moon, and on and on, I sincerely look forward to watching it.

Cool man. I'll have to put that one on TIVO too... I like that kinda stuff, makes you see how small we really are. That I've been using that Nat-Geo Universe Map that Rain posted up a month or so back as my desktop.
