There will be a hack for that EASILY. Ive played some unlan playable games that were hacked for it and im sure with the technology and skills someone can just hack the game and redirect it to local play instead of Bnet. Im actually will to bet there will be a hack for that in no time once the game comes out.

I'm sure there ill be a hack for it already finished while its in beta.

The game was much different than the original, but it was still fun.

i dunno, i liked TA Spring and it's sequal Supreme Commander (Forged Alliance xpac was even better).

i didn't like C&C3 until kanes wrath xpac came out, after that it was actually pretty fun and wayyy more diverse.

seems like THQ related products have extreme balance issues that eventually get hashed out in some xpac..Dawn of War series was good after the sisters xpac, and company of heroes was pretty good after several updates/patches

Red Alert 2 was awesome, even with some stuff from RA1 missing and keys being different (although you can go into the settings and set them to RA1 style)

i imagine having never played the original SC, all my post and prior RTS experience doesn't really matter...as if being someone having an opinion about MMO's, who's never played UO. it's just not going to be the same as someone who did. but it's whatever, if i pick up a game and get a couple months of enjoyment out of it (assuming it's not an MMO) then i think it was worth the purchase...i guess my expectations in games aren't always determined by the games potential longevity of being successful for years and years. the only games i have those kind of expectations for are MMOs.

I don't know, my biggest gripe is that characters were unique and had unique abilities in the original Red Alert, and after that for the most part all the characters in later games were the same old thing over and over. For example, Tanya one shot killing infantry and blowing up buildings, and needing dogs to kill enemy spies. Now it's all about mass building and selecting all/ attack moving.

Starcraft and the warcraft series had that micro management aspect with a lot of the gameplay being unique.

ahh..well i didn't play more than 2 or 3 months of RA2, but during that time i've never seen anyone win doing that..that would pretty much get you rolled if you weren't at least attempting to use minimal micro...ex: air units that attack inf and air units that atk air, you can ground them and they'll do the vice versa..the good AA were your inf airships which you could ground then became AA, and air to air that was the minimum effectiveness that could land and become good anti inf and shit like that, that made the game pretty good. i guess the 'super units' were kinda imba..but creating them also made a temporary vulnerability to their economy which you could exploit if you keep a close watch on their production during the whole game..which usually ended up in a moderately equal distribution of economy crippling..especially if you could lock down their base so the building can't function that's producing the super unit (whenever you notice a long period of time that a building isn't producing units) and raping their resources.
