im buying a tv this weekend finally. so let me ask you. for movies/video games mostly, and of course normal tv everything you want.
what do you go? plasma? or lcd with 120hz? im going 46-50 inch, no bigger no smaller.
samsung, or lg, or panasonic as a 3rd choice. thanks. go.

I would go with 120hz personally, but plasma would look slightly better.

samsung is easily the best TV out there but you pay a bit more for it. Also go 120HZ for sure. Plasma is ok but 120HZ is sweeeeeet

I'd go with a Samsung or Sony LCD. I've never owned a plasma, and I suppose it wouldn't be bad if you strictly watch movies/TV with it. However, if you're doing any sort of gaming on it, which you mentioned gaming, then LCD is the sure-fire answer. That's my opinion on it, by no means am I TV specialist.

I'm a Samsung fanboy these days. All their TVs look cool and perform great. They are more expensive than some of the other brands but cheaper than Sony.

plasmas dont have the image downsides of LCDs but weigh more, use more power and put out more heat.
I have a panasonic 42" 1080p plasma hooked to one of my computers and I run hulu videos on it all the time. Looks good, but not great.
A 120 hz LCD is probably the way to go for what you are going to use it for though. Pioneer stopped making plasmas and they pretty much made the best....panasonic make great plasmas too but I think plasmas are pretty much done with since OLED is almost here.
Personally color representation is what matters most to me and thats why I picked up a plasma.
