If you're a sci-fi fan (or even if you're not), get Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.
I know I said it above, but I didn't really stress how good of a book this is. It's a short read but it's one of the best books I've read, and thats not even being specific to the sci-fi genre.
Highly recommended, do yourself a favour and pick it up.

Definitely read that series, also most of R.A. Savatore's books are awesome. David Eddings is another favorite of mine, Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" is great but the guy died so guess what, no book 12 the last book of that series.
I just finished reading almost all of Salvatores Trilogies, I'm reading "The Hunter's Blades" it's really good.

agreed. Enders game is up there with Dune as far as quality.

Well i took all your guys advice and dug up an old copy of Enders Game. Gonna start reading it tonight. I've never actually read the whole book only made it to about chapter 2.
Seems like a lot of people give it high marks so i'm looking forward to diving in. Thanks.
