some are not so much new as you just might not have heard of them
Army of Anyone - basically its the singer from filter, and the brothers from STP (i think drummer/guitarist) anyway if youre a fan of stabbing westward or other filter style bands, youll probably be down.
Katatonia - buddy of mine just turned me onto them. not a new band, but a definate decnet sound. no balinor, its not the death metal growl. infact you can probably hear a huge pink floyd influence in them, along with Opeth and Tool. decent sound, and best cd if you wanna hear it is Last Fair Deal Gone Down with my 2 fav songs Transpire and Tonight's Music
And of course what new group wouldnt be complete with HELL YEAH! new group. vinny paul (pantera drummer, late dimebag's brother) and chad from mudvanye (the singer) and tom and jerry from nothingface (never heard of their music, name is familar) basically its mudvayne but not as emo sounding, lyrics are kind of dumb. but if youre looking for something to hit your head against its 100% badass. and vinnie is amazing.

Hehe an early if not the first Katatonia album called Brave Murder Day actually has the singer of Opeth doing the vocals for it. But that ones all death metal growl.
I heard a couple of the Hell Yeah tracks. Not too bad. Catchy shit with some big names in there but nothing mind blowing.

theres no really mind blowing 'super groups' ever really. just bands getting together sounding like their former bands.

Muse is definatly a good band. So is Radiohead.

Checked out Muse since you guys brought it up, and I'm really digging this "Time is running out" song.
