I think "they" have contact with the outside world and "they" are/where/still are? affliated with a government agency and there is some sort of radiation/nuclear tests and "they" are going/preventing? to blow up the world.

good question but I doubt they will double back to that monster, its been too long. I was happy that the mentioned the bears in the season opener.
Why are the Others so super humanly strong. Most of them can take a beating and keep on ticking.

I finished season 2 finally but i missed episode 1 of season 3 so I want to know what happend. What did they say about the bears? was it just some experiment like they hinted about in the film?

Sawyer was locked up in a cage with this funky circus contraption. He finally figured it out and a little fish biscuit came out. The captives came walking through and said "I see you got a fish biscuit, it only took the bears 2 hours". Thats all that really was mentioned about them... As if they were locked up in some sort of zoo for experiments.
