I keep looking at cnet for reviews on TVs. I want to get a nice TV for my place but I don't know what to even start looking at. I imagine my price range would be 2500. But at the same time should I wait a couple more months for the prices to drop significantly, or is it going to remain at where it is?
I would like to get a wall mounted TV (40") but I figure that would cost 4-5K?
Someone point me in the right direction.

We got a 65 Inch HDTV by mitsubishi... I like it a lot. It was like 4000 bucks, it's a really nice tv. I wouldn't go with the flat screens. they are known to only last 4-5 years.

Here are somet things to look for...
Widescreen/ HDTV/ with DVI
Plasma's only last 4-5 years, but LCD which are more expensive are the better buy. They just started making LCDs a lot bigger and therefor the prices are high.
I went with a 60inch Philips Projection Screen.
Projection HDTVs are bascially your best buy with everyone spending their money on flat screens. I would just get a projection screen and wait a few years until LCDs go down in price.

I have a 42" plasma hanging on my wall with DVI etc... It's almost 3 yrs old, and zero problems. I think the "short lifespan" chatter about plasmas is just rumor. Cost on them is 3k+ so they've dropped a lot in the last year.
LCD t.v.'s are nice too (got 2 of those hanging in different rooms).
I would wait till after xmas (ie: stomach the Dec 26th dump sale) to get it.

Yeah its not a rumor. It's fact that after you buy a plasma it loses quality slowly over the years. I think there is a way to service them, but not too sure on that.
