According to Comedy Central's analysis of Nielsen Media Research data, The Daily Show with John Stewart averaged 1.3 million viewers age 2 plus during its four nights of Democratic convention coverage last week.
For three out of four nights, the show's half-hour coverage at 11 p.m. delivered more adults 18-34 and 18-49 than Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and Headline News.
The convention week ranks as the mock news program's third best week ever, growing total viewers by 29 percent over the same period last year.
On July 27, Comedy Central delivered 887,000 viewers 18-49 and 528,000 age 18-34, followed by the second-youngest skewing network, CNN. The following night, TDS delivered 905,000 and 514,000 of the 18-49 and 18-34 audience segments respectively, followed by CNN. On July 30, TDS drew 885,000 adults 18-49 and 447,000 viewers 18-34, with Fox News Channel taking second place.
