i hope that some of the 50000+ people that have downloaded it are actually going to support ID Software and purchase the game.
Good companies that always deliver a stellar product deserve to be supported, ID is one of those companies.
go buy the game you fucks.

and I'll eventually crack down and buy it..but I can understand why someone would want to download it. Doom 3 retails at what? $54.99? IMO that is a bit much for a game, prices have been on the rise in the last few years..I'm not that comfortable spending 55$ on a video game. That is only reason I don't have a problem with someone else downloading the game. Yes they need to be supported, but 30-40$ is more reasonable than 55+tax.

prices haven't gone up on games in the last 5 years. in fact, i can remember paying 65$ for some new releases in the past, whereas lately 55$ is the max.
if you can't afford to "comfortably" spend 55$ on a video game, you ought to look into cutting back spending in other worthless areas (learn how to COOK for example), or find a higher paying job.
also, i bet it cost upwards of $100 million to produce doom 3 over the last 5 years. 55$ is not too much to ask for that amount of man hours. and they've got to fund this and other projects.

I'd have to dissagree with you..I don't remember pc games being 60$ five years ago.
I don't go out to eat much (I still live with my parents so food/cooking isn't really an issue.) It isn't that easy to find a great paying job when you're under 18 but..that isn't really my issue. Its more like I'm stubborn when it comes to my money. I currently have over a few grand in my checking account, its the fact I don't feel like 55$ is a reasonable price for a video game. Even though I have enough money for something doesn't mean I am comfortable with spending that much on a video game.
