Actually Cingular is a joint partnership 60% Bellsouth 40% SBC. Deal for AT&T may fall thru due to regulatory concerns / forced sales of assets (anti-monopoly regulations). Afraid even if it does go thru the next 2 years are going to be rough on the customers as these two companies try to mesh their systems together.

then you would know its nice to have a cell phone.... I have completely switched from using a land land to using a cell phone....the prices are soo close now days with all the services you get on a cell phone for free vs paid services on a normal phone...

they get everything att when they buy att.... thats means their network too...

Let me clarify it up.
I work for AT&T Wireless. Losing my job soon enough due to Cingular buyout and fucken Indians doing my job for a bowl of curry and rice.
SBC and BLS jointly own Cingular. 60% / 40%
AT&T Wireless is a totally separate company from AT&T. Which means they have no say control or don?t own any shares of AT&T Wireless (Trading symbol AWE)
Cingular has spectrum (Licensing) mainly in the south. They piggy back on T Mobiles Network. Everywhere else.
AT&T Wireless has spectrum In North. And we piggy back on a butch of fucken networks.
What happen is the fucken execs here at AT&T Wireless screwed this company over big time. We were once market performers but now we are slacking behind from to many Chiefs not enough Indians.
Long story short if you want to make a 15% Return on a stock buy AWE at its current asking price. 13.65 and Cingular will give you $15 a share with the acquisition happens.
Last thing is use Verizon! Thats where Im planning to work after they give me my package here.

Rashanir the whole bidding was about the network and the licensing of the network. You cant have the network if you dont have the licensing. Plus AT&T Wireless network is a step ahead of everyone elses network but still a whole generation behind Europe?s network.
Currently we have EDGE networks in certain areas. With my Nokia phone I have it teatherd to my laptop and can get speeds up to 150k.
